Jay Bell is a professor in the department of Soil, Water and Climate. He has received numerous teaching awards including the H.T. Morse Award for Undergraduate Teaching, both the non-tenured and tenured Distinguished Teaching Award in the old College of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences, and the Technology Enhanced Learning Award at the University level. From 2007 until 2014 he served as Associate Dean of Academic and Faculty Affairs in CFANS where he led a significant effort to reconstruct and revitalize the undergraduate curriculum. He has returned to the faculty where he is focusing on teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as community outreach education and service where he serves on the Board of Directors of two non-profits focusing on local foods.
